Honoring our beloved Elizabeth Calabrese
The Elisabetta is named after one of the founders of Laradon, Elizabeth Calabrese. Elizabeth and her husband Joseph struggled to find a place to educate their two sons with developmental disabilities. In 1948, they invested their life savings into creating a school of their own to educate children with disabilities that has since evolved to serve adults as well. Elizabeth was hardworking, driven, and treated every child as if they were her own. This is a legacy of Elizabeth Calabrese, who was determined to make Laradon a comfortable home for students and their families.
